EEEEEk another 10 day gap in my blogging... and so much has gone on. Tonight
Mrs. zeke returns from her holiday visit to the east coast, and her kids. She
arrives a 10:pm... at least the airport is only 20 minutes from the house. A ton
of luggage, including the
rat. this is an old picture... the one on the left is TORO, and he has
departed to doggie heaven. He was not neutered, and so was a liitle too brave,
one day he tried to out-bark a dog about 20 times his size and was bitten in
half. There is a lesson for us guys in that... too often males die, as did Toro,
of testosterone poisoning!!!! The rat on the right is TACO, many years older
now, but a real jet-setting pooch... she (neutered... it?) has been to new york
several times, twice driving and many times by plane. The dog's ticket is almost
as expensive as Mrs Zeke's.
Last night (saturday) had the RIB special at Gilleys, in the New Fronteer
Casino. It's about the only cowboy place on the strip, and the rib special was a
1-pound barbequed baby back rib for $9.95... delicious. They have a big
mechanical bull, and later in the evening plenty of cowboys bight the dust. The
waitress are costumed in cutoffs and pantihose... a fashion i had hoped went out
with the "Dukes of Hazzard." Not that i didn't enjoy daisey duke's
appearance, i did, still doo, and the waitresses were pretty darn cute too...
But short-shorts and panty hose is just, well... makes me think of nixon for
some reason. (if you don'y get this joke, email
me for the reference.)
Last night was also the final night (except for new year's eve) for the nightclub
"VIEW" this was a favorite of mine, mostly, i guess, because there are
two live band venues, Carnival Court and another, plus a "walk-in"
disco, "Tequila Joe's," withing a short walk. Since the bands start
early i don't have to wait till all hours to start dancing. This past saturday
i visited VIEW, and i have to say it is sad to see the dying days of a
great venue. The previous saturday, was indending to go back to RA, but when i
found out it was full price, i decided instead to visite "RAIN" a
really hot dance club... huge, and really full... this is the one seen on the
MTV reality show, or so i have heard, i am too cheap to have cable (except the
T-1 in the house.) I have some ropelight effects, but when i turned one on at
rain, i was promptly informed that guests may not operate any type of light
source. This actually seems reasonable to me, the have about a million bucks
worth of lighting and special effects, they sure as heck don't need zeke to
brighten thing up.!!! danced a few hours... sound there is loud but indistinct
because the speakers are in the ceiling (go figure) but good mix, so it was easy
to stay moving. Left about 3AM and there were still 100 ppl waiting in line to
get in. Bought a copy of FUSION 7 a web editor to help me with keeping the
blog up to date... couldn't even figure out how to add a line break, so gave up.
(by the way it's shift-enter) also i felt a bit cheated since the outside of the
box promised a $50 mail-in rebate, and after you opened the box, you got to
discover that the offer expired at the beginnig of january. Website Pros, can
expect to waste some time on the phone with me tomorrow.
Ran the heat pump 24 hours a day for the last 10 days, and did not get any
significant heat out of it... today was the first nice enough day to go up on
the roof and take a look. The outside coil was a solid block of ice!!!! I opened
the doors of the house and ran it in cooling mode, which heated up the coil and
melted off the ice... collected a few buckets of ice and distilled (though
filthy) water which i put on the little flower bed out front. Darn, i need
to take more photos and get some of them put up on the website.

Last night was Wednesday and i was at the RA, the nightclub in the luxor hotel. This is one
of the prettier disco's in Las vegas... very small dance floor in a fairly large
club. RA uses differing DJ'sd on the various nights and seems to have
several special events. Wednesdays is "pleasuredome" a sensual
event... lots of barely clad maidens (BCM's) doing a little tableaux. Music was
JUNGLE i guess its called... certainly primitive... djs JAMES ZABIELA and STEVE
PORTER kept the crowd moving.... well, kept zeke moving for the first half hours
or so, i had the dance floor all to myself, and was projected on the four giant
fideo screens... talk about EGO reinforcement.
added a hit counter to the site. also added a link to my long distance site.
folks, i signed up to be an agent, it's free, so not only do i now get 3.9 cents
long distance, i get a 6% commission on all my long distance bills. just click
the BUSINESS
OPPORTUNITY link. this morning slept in till almost 8:30... got
in about 3 AM.

Friday the 13th... eeewwww i will probably cower in a corner somewhere. Last
night was a local power outage. it was out for about two hours. I plan on using
a 48-volt system for all the network

Yesterday was a zero-accomplishment day, not that there aren't many such days,
but usually it's because i didn't TRY to do anything. First i did a radio
(wireless internet) survey and had no signal. Then i went along with Mrs. zeke
to get a TV set for $10.00 on sale. But the sale was over on Sunday, and wouldn
be another sale till today... (yep... one whole day of no sale going on.) so we
didn't buy anything. Then we went to eat lunch, bur missed the end of
lunch. So while we waited for dinner hour, we wandered around the PARIS and
dropped too much money into the slot machines. (hint: if you like slots, go
downtown where the odds are better.) finally, we went to eat at the buffet in
the ALADDIN casino. This was the bright spot in our day... the aladdin casino
buffet is still my favorite... not the cheapest, nor the most expensive (about
20 bucks,) but so far i have not found a place in town with more delicious food.
Not to be missed: Baklava (honey nut cakes) look in the middle eastern
section... not on the dessert bar. Folks... [rant alert] the idea of a
buffet is to be able to sample many high quality dishes, not to get the most
food for your money. If you want the most food for your money... go to McDonalds
and order the 99-cent special. Take a little of everything (well, not EVERYTHIGN)..
try the dishes you have heard about but were afraid to order in a restaurant.
Skip the roast beef unless you have never tasted it before. Eat slowly... they
don't time you (except at the SAHARA.) Say thank you to the wait person, at
Aladdin they are especially friendly, and leave a tip if you can afford it. [end
rant]

Made the drive to vegas today, arrived here about 4 PM fell into bed as soon as
the junk was unpacked from the car. drive was pretty, beautiful day. Don
Lancaster let me come over to his house last night and pick up some boxes
that i hope i will need tomorrow to hook up radio service in a motel. The house
looked so empty just two months ago, now its starting to look normal, e.g.. so
full of junk you can't walk across the room. Brought my gold record to put on
the wall... so much work to be done here!!!!
12-7-02 (late)
Just finished watching "It's a Wonderful life" for the umteenth
time... Still gets me all choked up at the end. Just call me a sentimental old
fool. Car is packed almost to the roof, we should depart tomorrow morning. Got
the thingies i needed for las vegas, also moving the video editing equipment, i
really want to spend some time in music and staging... something safford,
arizona does not have too much of. I also need to get some time to add pix to
the website... There are over a thousand new pictures waiting to get uploaded,
*sigh.*

WHERE DID THE WEEK GO????
Started off with a big screw-up on sunday... ran the credit cards for my
customers, and discovered i had 4 that had discontinued, so i ran VOIDS to stop
their billing. In the process, i re-billed everyone else... and when i tried to
fix THAT, i began triple billing.... EEEEEEEEK. i pulled the plug on the
machine (luckily it was a modem connection at 2400 baud, so only 37 transactions
got through. so much of the week was spent in frantic phone calls to the credit
card companies, and from customers complaining about my mistake. Also
spent some time (was up till midnight last night) upgrading the domain
registration software. its working but not functional. if you need to register a
domain, it will have to be over the phone. we are driving back to vegas today or
tomorrow. we have a customer for our vegas wireless service, and i need to pick
up some hardware before we leave... so we might wait till sunday.
11-30-02
We set up the APEX walmart $50 DVD player, and found a really nice
feature, you can put in a CDR or CDRW full of small .jpg files, and it will
display them as a slideshow on the tv screen. at least until the software
crashes and locks the system up, no response to any remote or local key press
except the power switch on the unit (not the remote.) this is the first time i
have ever needed to reboot a DVD player to get it to start working again.
hopefully, this will be fixed by a firmware upgrade. Really enjoyed the new
pictures mrsJust noticed that this version of frontpage does not have a spelling
checker, so expect the worst from my typoing. some of the turned-off users
coming in to pay and get back on.
11-29-02
Noon. back in arizona store for a week or so. mrs. zeke was here last month and
had a chance to clean up a bit. 5:Pm turned off the nopays... so we will get a
lot of calls this weekend to be turned back on this weekend, i expect. mrs. zeke
bought a $49 DvD player at wal-mart, tonight we will hook it up and try some of
our discs on it.
11-28-02
Yesterday was the long drive back to arizona, normally a 7-hour trip, made an hour longer by my
forgetting to forward the calls to the cell phone. Fed animal tranquilizers to
the cat, and she was VERY tranquil during the ride home. The rat dog sits quetly
on Mrs. zeke's lap, but a cat loose in a moving car is an invitation to
disaster, so Cosmo (named from the Carl Sagan pbs TV series COSMOS

The adult show again Friday, then dinner at RUMJUNGLE and, of course
dancing. Rumjungle (in the Mandalay Bay casino) is the first disco i have
visited in Las Vegas that does not allow drinks on the dance floor. What a
pleasure to dance on a floor unlittered by broken glass and spilled drinks.
Beautiful decor for a restaurant, a bit clunky as a disco. The sound
system is a bit indistinct, VERY hot go-go dancers, who work in suspended cages
and even trapezes. After Rumjungle i visited RA (in the LUXOR,) This is
one of the most beautiful clubs i have seen... clean penetrating sound, and a
great DJ. Very High ceiling and great lights. The ladies were great looking and
friendly. i very highly recommend RA, the only minus was the sticky dance floor.
[later] Just got back from the seminar (adult webmasters) totally tired out...
gonna pick a movie and watch it at home.
11-22-02
More of the adult-dex show. Sat in at one of the seminars. Mostly hung out with
Christi and Sheri. There was a reception later Thursday night. after the
reception i walked down to Harrah's casino and danced at VIEW. Very small
crowd. Really upset by the design of the sidewalks on the strip here in Vegas,
the hotels have replaced "normal" sidewalks with a labyrinth designed
to almost FORCE you to walk into the hotel, climb steps, etc. As the
hotels continue to become more and more customer unfriendly, i would hope more
visitors will discover the joys of Fremont
Street, where you can walk easily from casino to casino. As a side benefit,
the odds are better downtown, too.
11-21-02
Yesterday i visited the adult-DEX show. This show was once a part of
COMDEX and was kicked out several years ago or so i have heard. Mrs. Zeke
came along and took a couple of pix of me and beautiful ladies at the show. One
was adult film star Christi Lake... What a beauty, and nice to talk to, also.
She asked me to link to her website www.ChristiLake.com.
Also talked to one of the beautiful girls from the world famious Sheri's
Ranch, a legal brothel in Pahrump, NV. Today is the first day of CYBERNET, a
trade show for adult webmasters which is put on by the same people that do the
adult-DEX show. I hope to get a few new bandwidth customers there. Had the
buffet at the BOARDWALK, low prices, but Mrs. Zeke and i both had severe stomach
cramps and other symptoms afterward. We have removed them from our list of fine
dining experiences.

Wore the blue three piece suit to Comdex. Had also worn it to the Bill Gates
address, and the opening party. Of course a few people came up to me on the
tradeshow floor and commented on my dancing Sunday night. The dancing had
actually been a little stilted, because i was in the three piece. I now have a
great deal more respect for John Travolta, who did a spectacular job in that white
suit. I just bought Saturday Night Fever DVD
, and i recommend it highly. According to commentary track there were actually TWO white suits, and at the
end of each take, the suit was peeled off john and blow-dried while he wore the
second suit for the next take. I imagine if i had a costume department and a
dressing room, i could have given a better show... *laugh* the important
thing was i had fun dancing. There was not a lot of new stuff, but did see
some important improvements in wireless access points. Going to make another
sweep of the floor today. Called printer, the business cards will not be ready
till tomorrow, heh... just in time to miss Comdex.
11-18-02
Got tickets and attended the bill gates opening address. Very excited about the
new .net server software... probably too pricey for me to use directly, but
hopefully i will have some bigger customers that make it appropriate. The part i
like is support for geographically disbursed clustering. Also shown...
refrigerator magnets with imbedded windows software (honest!!!) Party after was
totally crowded, featured some professional dancers that were really good.
Learned a few moves from watching one of the dancers... Showed him a move
or two of my own. Earlier, we saw a used Chinese curio cabinet... since i am
such a junk collector, we bought it, now we need to get it home somehow. It's
about 8 in the morning, today is the first day of the trade floor stuff at Comdex. We didn't attend last year, so i am looking forward to a lot of new
stuff. End of the week is AdultDEX (referred to as CUMdex in certain circles.)
We are bringing big bandwidth into las vegas, many adult webstie owners live
here in vegas, but host elsewhere because bandwidth is so expensive.
11-17-02
Did not go out last night, too tired. Mrs. Zeke went out to get tickets for Bill
Gates tonight. Got some web stuff going for other customers.
11-16-02
Last night went to the BIKINI disco, a new club in the RIO. Impressive clean
sound system. Danceable music, my rants about disco's allowing drinks on the
dance floor will fall on deaf ears here... one edge of the dance pit is a
bar. Go-go girls and guys dressed as lifeguards... wait staff in bathing
suits. Best looking staff i have seen in a long time. Finally took the camera
along, so should have some pictures posted eventually.
11-15-02
China hutch has some stuff in it now and it looks pretty good. will post a pic
later. Trying to decide where to go tonight... Want to see the new place
"Bikini" in the rio..
Last night stayed home and watched star wars episode II. very awsome on video...
better in my living room than at the orleans in digital projection, or
another theatre in 35MM.. Also cool that i can pause the movie if i need to get
a snack or something.
11-14-02
The china hutch was delivered today. A huge monstrosity in my opinion, but hey,
"If SHE ain't happy, YOU ain't happy!" Discussion on yahoo Nevada
channel about men being jerks, so i ranted a little about the difference between
man and women. Men are seeking genetic health which is what we call
"beauty," and the ability to bear children which is
"sexiness." A beautiful woman has straight bones, symmetrical
features, good teeth. Sexy, in a woman is generally wide hips, (research points
to a waist-to hip ratio approaching .72,) this probably relates to child bearing
ability. Breasts are important for their obvious baby-feeding
functionality. The media has completely screwed this up, of course,
teaching men that skinny girls with huge fake breasts are somehow sexy. Women
(not immature girls,) on the other hand, are programmed to protect their nest
and children. They are hard-wired to seek substance rather than appearance; they
want to see financial strength, loyalty, standing in the community (power,) and
social skill. Again, this gets mis-reported as "women only care about your
money" but really they care about your children. I will stop ranting now,
but hope to continue on this subject later. Your comments are welcome, and will
be posted here.
11-13-02
Last night to the green door again, we were darn near the only people there, but
then we go out so early, there were two other couples arriving as we left.
Bought a new printer, CANON S-900 absolutely STUNNING photo printouts. Also more
house stuff... dishes, flatware, and a china hutch. I had one guy in the
chatroom ask about dragging a camera around with me to the discos. But he got
un-interested when i said there was no pay!!! I still need someone to help
with the pictures at discos... email
me.
11-12-02
Created this blog website so i have a place for my rants and raves.
11-12-02
We are almost moved into our new home and office in las vegas. I need someone
over age 21 in las vegas to go to the discos with me and take pictures. Please email
me if you like discos and can help.
11-09-02
Friday night at the VIEW and also carnival court and Tequila Joe's lots of
beautiful ladies there.
10-30-02
Mrs. zeke walked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon again, and brought back many
beautiful pictures
